Nigerian tycoon Aliko Dangote, retained his position as Africa’s richest person and was listed the 51st richest person in the world, in the Forbes 2016 world’s billionaires list .

The founder and chairman of Dangote cement, the largest cement producer in Africa, Dangote rose 16 places from 67th position last year.
Additionally, his fortune increased to $15.4 billion from $14.7billion in 2015.
Despite heavily investing in cement, the 58 year old self made billionaire has business interests in sugar, flour and salt production.

The annual Forbes billionaire list for 2016 was released on Tuesday with Microsoft founder Bill Gates topping the list for the 17th time in the last 22 years.
In second place is retail tycoon Amancio Ortega the founder of Zara and American business magnate Warren Buffet was third.
The 2016 list, which contains 1,810 billionaires, also has four other Nigerians apart from Dangote.
The four are Mike Adenuga, Femi Otedola, Folorunsho Alakija and Abdulsamad Rabiu.
